MAKING SAFETY AND COMFORT MORE ACCESIBLE TO THE US EQUESTRIAN MARKET
WELLIINGTON, FL (SEPTEMBER 2015): Air jackets were first introduced to the UK equestrian sector in 2008, but the potential benefits they could bring to riders was far from accepted. With the help of some early pioneers, a large dose of determination and a program of testing and development, the Air Jacket is now a common sight across virtually all equestrian disciplines. The equestrian Air Jacket first gained momentum in the Eventing world. In the UK, it has now spread throughout the equestrian disciplines, including leisure riding. Eventing used to be 90% of Point Two’s market in the UK. With the increased acceptance of the efficacy of Air Jackets in reducing the chance of life threatening injuries in the event of a fall, Eventing now only accounts for 30% of the Air Jacket market, with a large presence in hunting. Point Two wants to bring the same level of safety to the US market, making Air Jackets as commonplace for leisure riders as they are for top level eventers.
The UK is renowned for having the highest safety standards in the world, for equestrian sports. “In the last four years, we feel that America is changing rapidly and wants the best standards in safety. Three to four years ago, you couldn’t even give away a level III body protector. The US equestrian market has been deprived of safety products because the greatest concern used to be comfort. Now we feel that safety has become paramount and we want to offer both comfort and safety and educate all riders about the Air Jacket,” says Point Two CEO, Lee Middleton.
Point Two’s new manufacturing plant has opened in Wellington, Florida. “Being both UK and US based, we have the opportunity to reach more riders worldwide with the highest of safety standards.”

Point Two are suppliers of Air Jackets to 14 Nations in 2012 including Great Britain, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, Brazil, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Ireland, Thailand, South Africa, Poland and Russia.
All Point Two air jackets now come with a lifetime year warranty on the airbag component. The warranty covers jackets purchased from any Point Two outlet and is applicable to the original owner of the jacket.
The warranty is subject to the jacket being serviced annually by Point Two. The jacket will be serviced by a Point Two engineer who will make an initial visual assessment of the jacket, test the integrity of the shell, the trigger system and the airbag and checked for any signs of wear and tear that might impede its performance.
If any reduction in the airbag performance is detected when inflating during testing (either while still in the shell or removed from the shell) the airbag will be replaced FOC for the customer. The jacket will then be reassembled and test inflated before being returned to the owner with a breakdown of the condition of each area of the jacket. If a jacket is purchased second hand the remainder of any warranty can only be transferred once the jacket has been submitted for a service and jacket assessment.
If you have already purchased your Point Two jacket and have submitted it for a service it will automatically be eligible for the warranty. If you have not previously submitted your jacket for servicing register your details and we will confirm whether it is eligible.
